Angus L. M. Thom McLean, Ph.D., is the Chief Operating Office and Managing Director of Virtually Better, Inc. Dr. McLean has over twenty years of experience in research and development of simulation, information, training and aerospace systems. He also serves as adjunct faculty in the Sam Nunn School of International Affairs and in the College of Computing at Georgia Tech. There he teaches courses on the simulation and gaming of warfare, and has taught courses in distributed simulation, computer game development, databases and operating systems. His research interests include the philosophy of simulation and virtual worlds (particularly in their impact on real-world activities), temporality and integration of distributed simulation systems. \ \ Prior to taking the helm at VBI, he was Director of Strategy for the Simulation and Training Systems Division of Rockwell Collins, Inc., where he was responsible for strategic planning, and merger & acquisition analysis. He also served as Principal Engineering Manager of the modeling and simulation group in the Rockwell Collins Advanced Technology Center. Before Rockwell Collins, Dr. McLean was full-time research faculty for over 10 years at Georgia Tech. Prior to that, Dr. McLean worked for Booz\'95Allen & Hamilton, Inc., where he was a test director for DARPA's WarBreaker program, and for the U.S. Navy, where he was a Fighter Pilot and instructor. He received a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering from the U.S. Naval Academy. He did graduate work in computer science at Texas A&M (CC) and George Mason University, and received a PhD in Computer Science from Georgia Tech.
